Continental Self - Hervey Bay - Queensland - Australia - Circa 1998

This was one of those amazing trips that you have once in a lifetime. The first photo here shows me holding a Red Emporer which weighed in at 22kg cleaned. No trick photography here. This was one of those once in a lifetime fish. Caught on a traditional bottom bouncing rig, this prize fish fell to a fresh strip of Stripy. After landing this fish, I put my rod down for the rest of the day. The last photo is of a shark that took a small snapper I'd hooked, but on eating the snapper and swimming off, the line was cut by the sharks teeth and the second dropper hook caught the shark in the tail. Much huffing and puffing later, I managed to get the grey coat to the boat.
